Five Years On Since London Transport Terrorist Bombings — Lost Loved Ones Commemorated at Hyde Park Memorial Site

In July 2009, families attended the unveiling of
the memorial to commemorate loved ones lost and Injured
in July 7, 2005 London transport bombings.
July 7, 2010 — In a quiet, informal gathering on the
eastern side of Hyde Park today, families and friends
of the victims of the July 7, 2005 London transport
bombings came together to mark the fifth anniversary
of the deadly terrorist attacks that killed 52 and
injured hundreds.
Victims’ families also paid their respects at
Tavistock Square, Edgware Road, King’s Cross and
Aldgate where the bombings occurred.
“At the request of the families of the victims, there is
no formal ceremony this year, their view being that
the opening of the permanent memorial by the
Prince of Wales last year was the appropriate way
to finish that stage of their grieving,” reports
Alexandra Topping in The Guardian (UK).
